The Cardiac Science Powerheart G3 Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) was designed for high performance, reliability, and ease of use. During the chaos of an emergency caused by a sudden cardiac arrest, the Powerheart G3 Plus AED uses a patented RescueCoach voice prompts which calmly directs the person providing the assistance with the proper steps and procedures.
PowerReady performance Technology insures that the unit is always ready. Every day the Powerheart AED self checks all main components (battery, hardware, software, and electrode pads). Every week, the AED completes a partial charge of the high-voltage electronics; every month, the AED charges the high-voltage electronics to full energy. If anything, at any time indicates a problem, an indicator light on the handle changes from green to red and emits an audilbe alert to service the unit.
The most recent studies have shown that if the AED can be deployed within one minute of the cardiac arrest, the victim's chance of survivial is at 90%.
The chances of survival decrease by 10% for every minute following without the conversion to a normal heart rate.
For this reason EVERYONE should learn how to perform adequate CPR and how to use an AED.
